Why African Babies Don't Cry

I found this very interesting article by J. Claire K. Niala - a mother, osteopath & writer based in Nairobi, Kenya.

She starts off by explaining that whilst in the UK at the begining of her pregnancy, she read everywhere that African babies cried less than European babies. She then went on to observe this when she returned to Kenya after having sold up in the UK. She noticed that it was culturally accepted in the UK that babies cry, but not in Kenya, where if they do, something must be wrong. 

And so she goes on to explain the differences between the care given to UK babies, and to Kenyan babies, and how the answer rests mainly in breastfeeding. 

I am really in agreement with a lot of the things that she explains and I really recommend reading the full article :
