Pingouin

Pingouin est (était) une peluche lambda produite en grande série dans une usine, issue d'un magasin où il fut choisi parmi ses congénères identiques, comme cadeau pour mon fils ainé. 

Mais Pingouin voulut se démarquer. Je lui confectionnai des tresses, et un habit en crochet, à partir de bandes de jersey découpé dans divers tee shirts voués au recyclage.  

Pingouin était tellement bien et joli qu'il se fit adopter instantanément... par mon fils de 6 ans. 

Il vit encore avec nous à ce jour.

From Christian Lacroix to Pièce Unique

Initially a beautiful vintage Christian Lacroix BAZAR top

I’ve cut the top of the sleeves to add vivid patchwork pieces, in a mix of cottons and silk. The piecing is fully lined. On the front I have added a lovely patchwork panel of Italian silk, also fully lined, and 2 lovely mother of pearl type buttons.
Size 38-40.

A la base, Uun magnifique haut vintage de Christian Lacroix BAZAR.

J’ai coupé le haut des manches pour ajouter un joli patchwork , un mélange de cotons et de soie. La pièce est complètement doublée. Sur le devant j’ai ajout un joli patchwork de soies Italiennes, également complètement doublé, et deux jolis boutons légèrement nacrés.
Taille 38-40.

And now for a little custom order : Karine bought this coat from a second hand shop, posted it to me with her colour preferences and a couple of indications. Here is the finished piece, customized in its new unique style with cotton and silk appliqué pieces, both hand and machine stitched in place. A few pictures of the project follow.

Today’s custom order is a cheeky ladybug. It was all in tones of red and black. But how much fun is that? I’ve thrown in some purple, some white with little blue stars, some purple with black stripes, and a yellow losange.
All hand stitched for maximal imperfect finish :=)

Peluche coccinelle re-couverte

La commande du jour est une petite coccinelle mimi. Toute en tons de rouge et de noir au début. Ce n’est pas très fun n’est-ce-pas ? Alors j’ai rajouté du violet, du blanc à petites étoiles bleues, du violet à rayures noires, et un losange jaune.
Tout cousu main pour le max d’effet imparfait :=)

Titi en a eu marre d’être jaune. Tout jaune. Juste jaune. Il voulait un peu de couleur pour égayer sa journée. Alors il m’a demandé de le relooker. Des couleurs, du patchwork, c’est tout ce qu’il voulait !!!

Tweety was fed of being yellow. All yellow. Just yellow. He wanted colours to brighten up his day. So he asked me to give him a new look. Colours and patchwork, that’s all he wanted !!!

J’ai reçu récemment une commande pour deux Doudous pour deux petits garçons. 
Voici ma première proposition.

Ces deux souris à l’origine étaient reliées. Je les ai séparées. Elles ont un joli corps pelucheux gris foncé. J’ai décidé des parties originelles à conserver, puis recouvert de mon patchwork de jersey de coton bio, et chûtes de coton classique par endroits. 

I recently got an order for 2 child comforters for 2 little boys. 

These two mice were originally attached together. 
They have a lovely dark grey body. 
I decided on the original parts I wanted to keep, and recovered the rest with my patchwork, using organic jersey cotton and classic cotton.
