This mode, I did not make :) |
I realised a while ago that relying on
one’s own kids as models is not very reliable. Some times their nose is running
green or yellow, other times they don’t fancy it, then they are the times they
are just not there (childcare, school…)… so, for someone dealing in making
kidswear, and with no budget for employing child models, there was a serious
problem. For every problem there is a solution right? So, after a bit of
thinking and a couple of unsuccessful attempts, I resolved to try to translate
my second son’s – age 1 - dimensions on paper. In the end, I have a little man
which is the exact right height, with slight disproportions eg. Narrow chest,
long and narrow head, not much hip movement, but all in all, he’s not too bad.
Here are a few pics to illustrate this story.
This babygrow gave me an idea... Cette combinaison m'a donné une idée... |
How about turning it inside out, and filling it with wadding??? |
I can't say I didn't try, unfortunately, it turned out to be an e-nor-mous baby. |
My dummy coming to life. Mon propre modèle prend forme. |
And finally here he is. Arms and legs are too long, some adjustement needs to be done. |
Here I tried a little collage to give him a more human face... Hmmm, not sure it works... |
The very first modelling session, after hands and feet were shaped. |
He's finding his attitude. Il a de l'attitude! |
The little guy's hungry!!! Le petit bonhomme a faim! |
...playing up :) N'est pas content |
Photo session, modelling my latest Lilou coat! Séance photo avec ma dernière création de "veste Lilou" taille 1 an! |
This dummy turned out FANTASTIC Sheshanna!!! I LOVE the last photo, modeling the Lilou coat! Very crisp and clean, and super eye-catching! :)
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much Kate! I love that my model is so appreciated, he deserves it! I'll be working at some kind of facial features at some point :)
