From tablecloth to playmat – episode 1

Voici un objet que j’ai realisé lorsque j’étudiais à l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier. Il s’agit d’une nappe avec divers objets intégrés, que j’ai présentée entre autre travaux au moment de mon passage de diplôme final.

Comme beaucoup d’autres choses chez moi, même mes pièces passées trouvent une nouvelle vie à un moment ou un autre. 10 ans plus tard, je reprends donc cette nappe pour la transformer en tapis de jeux pour mon bébé de 9 mois. Je vais enlever toutes les parties qui ne lui conviendront pas, et je reviendrais alors avec de nouvelles images.

Pour l’instant, mes deux garçons se sont quand même amusés à la découvrir…

Here is an object that I made when I was studying at Art School in Montpellier. It’s a tablecloth, with various objects integrated in it, that I presented amongst other works at the time of my final degree.

As many other things, even passed pieces find another use at one point or another. 10 years on, I am going to rework this tablecloth to transform it into a playmat for my 9 month old. I will take off all the parts unsuitable for him, and come back with some new images when I’m done.

My boys had some fun discovering it to start with!!!
