I made the Cat themed blanket using fabric given to me by Anna Wadworth (the base fabric on the front), who had a stall on the Broadway Market in Hackney a few years ago; and Fairtrade hand-woven samples (the pieces used for the Cat) of cotton saved from one of my previous jobs in fashion.
The edging is a piece of African textile that I bought a long time ago in Montpellier.
Predominantly machine top-stitching. Some hand stitching to the main design. Backing in cotton, with a tab to hang the blanket, and a pocket to use as a hood for Baby’s head.
Size 60 x 60 cm.
Sold in May 2009.
